All Incentive Awards Program competitions start in the fall and end in the spring and are by invitation only. In February, select students will receive a letter inviting them to apply to the program. The letter will have an access code and directions on how to complete the application.
The application consists of the following:
- Part I: Personal Data Form
- Part II: Essay Questions
- Candidates must have taken the SAT I or ACT college entrance exams by October of the senior year.
- Candidates must be eligible for the Pell Grant as determined by their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Candidates who cannot demonstrate significant financial need will not be considered.
- Two letters of recommendations from teachers, counselors, employers and/or community leaders addressing at least one of the following points: (a) academic potential, (b) leadership and community service commitment, (c) difficult circumstances overcome. Students should inform their references of the area(s) they would like them to address.
The application and recommendations must be submitted online ONLY.
